How Do Installers Book Appointments Without Phone Tag?

Fitting Long Installs and Short Service Calls Into One Day
A furnace install can take the whole morning, a blind install an hour, and a pool chemical check 20 minutes. If every job gets the same slot, you're either rushing customers or sitting in the truck. RouteWren lets the day match the work:
- Visit length per stop. Set a usual length, then give any job its own: four hours for an EV-charger install, 30 minutes for a tune-up.
- Start time and breaks. Add lunch or a supply-house run, and no customer gets booked over it.
- Due dates. Warranty visits, follow-ups and seasonal maintenance keep their due dates, so the urgent ones go out first.
- A smart driving order. Every stop gets an arrival time that allows for the drive, and Directions opens the day in Google Maps.
- Plan the week. Plan several days spreads a list of jobs across the week, and you check it before anything is saved.
Type jobs in, paste them from a spreadsheet or upload a CSV. Work orders that arrive by email can be forwarded to your private RouteWren address.

Keep it short, say who you are and give a specific window. Customers who booked through a dealer or property manager may not know your name.

Templates can be written in English or French. Send texts through your phone's messaging app, automatically from your own Android number with httpSMS, through Twilio, or by email. Can one day hold a long install and several quick service calls?
Yes. Set a usual visit length, then give any stop its own time: four hours for a furnace swap, 30 minutes for a filter change or a warranty check. Breaks are planned around, and every stop gets an arrival time that allows for the drive.
Can customers pick their own appointment time?
Yes. Text two or three times that fit your route and the customer taps the one that suits them, confirms the time you sent, or says they can't make it. Their answer shows on the stop, and times you've already sent don't change on you.
Does RouteWren replace my dispatch or field-service software?
No. RouteWren is for the person driving to the jobs, one user per account. It books your visits, plans your driving day and keeps your contact and mileage records. Keep using your dispatch or field-service software for work orders, quotes, parts and invoicing.
Can I bill customers or clients for time spent on the phone?
RouteWren gives you the numbers to bill from. Tapping Call on a stop logs the call, and every job keeps a log of texts and calls. By default a text counts as 5 minutes and a call as 15, and you can change both. The totals appear in your route exports and in a time report, and they're kept for billing after the route itself is deleted.
Which plan fits?
Installers doing one or two big jobs a day usually fit Starter (40 stops a month, $12) or Plus (100, $29). Service technicians running five or more calls a day fit Pro (200, $59) or Unlimited ($119 a month, or $1,190 a year). Prices are in Canadian dollars, and every feature is on every plan. See pricing.
Does it work on an iPhone?
Yes. RouteWren runs in your phone's browser and can be added to your home screen. On an iPhone you can text manually (RouteWren writes each message and opens Messages, you tap send), use Twilio for automatic texts from a rented number, or send appointment emails. Automatic texting from your own number needs an Android phone with httpSMS.
